Grignolino d’Asti DOC

Grignolino emerges in the history of the ancient vineyards of Piedmont, and it finds its cradle between Asti and Casale Monferrato. The name almost certainly derives from “grignole” a dialect craftsman term indicating the particularly numerous seeds in every berry. It’s a very demanding vine in terms of climate and terrain, difficult to grow and to transform, but it gives an original wine, unpredictable and whimsical that welcomes passionate acclaims; it expresses a certain strength, providing medium to high production quantities.

Vinification: Selection of grapes during the manual harvest, de-stemming, crushing and temperature-controlled maceration in programmable fermenters.

Properties and characteristics: It has a ruby ​​red color, more or less subtle, discreet structure, delicate bouquet with fruity and Underwood notes, often accompanied by characteristic hints of white pepper and a dry flavor, thanks to the typical tannins presence having a pleasantly bitter aftertaste, giving it an austere but refined character.

Serving temperature: 18°C
Serving suggestions: Excellent served with hot starters, pasta dishes, vegetable pies, duck and white meat, fried food. It’s an good companion of the daily meals.
