Gavi DOCG

Cortese is the most famous white grape of Piedmont, but the grapes coming from the small town of Gavi are something very special thanks to the soil, the microclimate and the breeze blowing lightly in the region during the spring season. Each year La Torre selects the product so to present an excellent Gavi DOCG. The oenologist has established a process of fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, without aging, to preserve the freshness and fragrance of grapes. The result is a pleasant wine, delicious and elegant: a great white of character, demanded all around the world.

Vineyards: 100% in the municipality of Gavi, Guyot simple breeding
Harvest: End of September – beginning of October
Vinification: Soft pressing. Cleaning of the must through decanting and starting the fermentation at controlled temperature (18-20°C) for the depletion of sugars.
Average annual production: 3,000 bottles
Aging: At least 3 months in bottle
Properties and characteristics: It has a pale straw yellow color, tending to greenish; distinctive aroma, delicate, subtle but persistent; dry taste, harmonious, savory, pleasantly bitter.
Alcohol content: 12.5% ​​vol.
Garde probable: 2 years
Serving temperature: 10° – 12°C
Serving suggestions: Excellent as an aperitif; accompanies cold starters (vegetables, chicken salad), fish, risottos, creams and fish dishes with delicate meat, truffles.
