The Barbera vine appears in 1798, born from a spontaneous crossing of older vines seeds, already grown in Piedmont. Its expansion has been constant over the centuries and it is now the most popular red grape variety in the region.
It is a wine that is steady in most of its forms, with good body, capable to satisfy the most discerning palates. But in the multiplicity that characterizes the Barbera, La Torre also decided to include in its range another of its successful souls: the sparkling Barbera del Monferrato, a lively wine to be drunk young, and that has been representing the classic red wine for every meal for decades.

Vineyards: 100% in Castel Rocchero, Guyot simple breeding.
Harvest: End of September – beginning of October
Vinification: Selection of grapes during the manual harvest, de-stemming and crushing and temperature-controlled maceration in programmable fermenters. Froth generation during bottling.
Average annual production: 8,000 bottles
Aging: At least 3 months in bottle
Properties and characteristics: The color is ruby red with tendency to garnet, fruity flavor and dry taste, with a full and intense body, in the glass it is clearly sparkling.
Alcohol content: 13% vol.

Serving temperature: 16° -18°C
Serving suggestions: It is suitable to accompany any meal. Excellent with main dishes of modern cuisine, perfect with salami, it goes well with medium-aged cheeses, roasted meats and risottos.
